I started working with Jim in February 2013. I have worked with traditional trainers in the past, but Jim’s “whole body and mind” approach really appealed to me. I thought I was already in good shape, but I had been dealing with chronic, exercise induced pain for almost a year and was wondering if I was doing something wrong. Turns out, I was doing a lot wrong! For starters, I was over-exercising, my form was not great, and I wasn’t eating as clean as I thought I was. I was thinking of getting a personal trainer for a long time and now I believe that I have found the best. I am a 63-year-old male and I’ve been working with Jim for over a year now and I can honestly say that, thanks to Jim, I am in the best shape of my life and have never felt better. At your first meeting Jim will give you an overall assessment and then develop a program that is just for you. He will personally oversee that program and your development. He will work with you one-on-one for a whole hour and he keeps a chart of your progress. He mixes it up and keeps it exciting and interesting. He will also show you the proper body positions for each exercise and instruct you in proper breathing. When I started working with Jim my muscles were tight and I was not very flexible. Over this past year my flexibility has improved and my range of motion has increased. Also my cardio and breathing have improved greatly. In 2006 I had to start working out to make it into the Philadelphia Police Department. I asked for Jim’s help to train for the physical agility test. The test required sit-ups, 1.5 mile run, bench press, and 300 meter dash. Jim developed a work out program that helped me work on my strength and endurance to be able to pass all the tests. He also developed a nutritional program to help me succeed. Some of the exercises helped me work on arms, legs, chest, back, shoulders, abs and cardio. With Jim’s help I was able to increase my bench weight by at least 60 pounds. Also, with his help I was able to pass the physical agility test. While I was working out with Jim I was in the best shape of my life. I was able to lose weight but also gain muscle. Jim is a great trainer because he developed a program that was suited just for me and he was a great source of motivation. As a teacher, its not always easy to find time to work out but Jim made it possible. From our first conversation to our followups he was professional and knowledgeable. Jim diagnosed my eating habits and designed a nutrition plan that worked best for my body and my eating habits.
